Evan Setting

This novel is set is a small country called Opium. This country spans from the Atlantic ocean to the Pacific ocean including parts of Mexico and the United States such as San Diego, it is also run by a  drug lord named El Patron, this evil country is ruled by the production of the drug Opium.  El patron and the other Major drug dealers managed to strike a deal with Mexico and America. The deal was this El Patron and the other drug dealers were allowed to produce and export the drug opium and in return they will stop illegals from jumping the border and not ship to these two countries even though people still smuggle it through.  This book has hovercrafts similar to airplanes but with the ability to do vertical takeoffs.  So I believe that this book is set in the future. But it also says that El Patron likes to live 100 years in the past and they cook on wood burning stoves which leads me to believe that this book takes place in about 2045.  I think that this book has a great setting and i think that the author did a great job of portraying it to us.
